Details

The Quantum Stylist™ Touch 9985 sewing machine takes sewing to a whole new level - starting with the easy-to-use color touch LCD screen, where you can view tutorials for setting up your machine to sew. Scroll through the more than 1,000 different stitch applications to get inspired for your next project. Your stitch selection appears in actual size on the LCD screen, and you can customize the length and width as well.

Many stitches can be mirror imaged or elongated for even more creative options. Choose basic or stretch stitches for fashion sewing, quilting and heirloom stitches for quilts or table linens, or decorative stitches to embellish almost anything!

Buttonholes can be sewn in one easy step, and there are 13 different styles to choose from – basic bartack, stretch buttonholes for stretch fabrics, keyhole buttonhole for menswear or outerwear, and more.

There is a Speed Control so that you can set the machine's maximum speed – slower for more intricate projects or faster for larger projects like curtains, duvet covers and more. No matter if you sew quilts or crafts, fashions or home decor, you'll never run out of ideas with the creative possibilities this model has to offer.

Common questions

Can I book a class at a different location?

Yes! You can take classes at any of our locations. However, if you’re enrolled in a semester course, you’ll need to attend all sessions at the same location since classes meet consecutively each week.

Do I need any experience to take a class?

Not at all. Our beginner classes are designed for people who have never touched a sewing machine. Your instructor will walk you through everything from setup to your first stitch.

What are private lessons like?

Private lessons are one-on-one sessions tailored to your specific goals and projects. When booking, simply let us know what you’d like to work on, and we’ll match you with an instructor who specializes in that area. You can bring in an existing project or email us details in advance so we can prepare for your lesson.

What do I take after completing sewing 101 or sewing 101 bootcamp?

Once you’ve completed Sewing 101 or Sewing 101 Bootcamp, the possibilities are endless! You’ll be eligible to take any of our intermediate and advanced classes, including Dressmaking, Coat Making, Copy Your Clothes, Pattern Making 1, and Draping 1. From there, you can explore the areas of sewing and fashion design that interest you most.

What should I bring?

Most beginner classes require nothing but yourself! For Sewing 101, Sewing Bootcamp, and some intermediate classes, students will need to purchase fabric. Required materials and yardage will be listed in your welcome email, and fabrics can be purchased in our shop or on your own before class.

What's the difference between a one-day class and a semester class?

Our one-day classes are designed for you to learn the skills and complete your project in a single day. If you prefer to learn at a slower pace, our semester courses meet weekly over four to six weeks, giving you more time to practice and build your skills between classes.

What's your cancellation policy?

Classes and workshops may be canceled or rescheduled up to 72 hours before the start of class. Private lessons may be canceled or rescheduled up to 24 hours in advance. Private events and birthday parties require at least one week’s notice.
