Details

The SINGER® Heavy Duty 4552™ sewing machine delivers advanced performance and maximum versatility for experienced sewists. Built with strong piercing power and a full metal interior frame, it provides the strength and stability needed to sew everything from lightweight fabrics to heavy materials like denim, leather and vinyl.

With 32 builtin stitches, including utility, stretch and decorative options, the SINGER® Heavy Duty 4552™ supports both essential sewing and creative customization. Speed control allows for greater precision, especially when working with detailed techniques or specialty fabrics.

What sets this model apart is its expanded capability. Included bonus presser feet—such as the Even Feed/Walking Foot and NonStick Foot—make it easier to sew quilts, thick layers and challenging materials. Combined with user-friendly features like an integrated needle threader, one-step buttonhole, and top drop-in bobbin, the SINGER® Heavy Duty 4552™ is designed to handle more demanding projects with confidence.

Common questions

Can I book a class at a different location?

Yes! You can take classes at any of our locations. However, if you’re enrolled in a semester course, you’ll need to attend all sessions at the same location since classes meet consecutively each week.

Do I need any experience to take a class?

Not at all. Our beginner classes are designed for people who have never touched a sewing machine. Your instructor will walk you through everything from setup to your first stitch.

What are private lessons like?

Private lessons are one-on-one sessions tailored to your specific goals and projects. When booking, simply let us know what you’d like to work on, and we’ll match you with an instructor who specializes in that area. You can bring in an existing project or email us details in advance so we can prepare for your lesson.

What do I take after completing sewing 101 or sewing 101 bootcamp?

Once you’ve completed Sewing 101 or Sewing 101 Bootcamp, the possibilities are endless! You’ll be eligible to take any of our intermediate and advanced classes, including Dressmaking, Coat Making, Copy Your Clothes, Pattern Making 1, and Draping 1. From there, you can explore the areas of sewing and fashion design that interest you most.

What should I bring?

Most beginner classes require nothing but yourself! For Sewing 101, Sewing Bootcamp, and some intermediate classes, students will need to purchase fabric. Required materials and yardage will be listed in your welcome email, and fabrics can be purchased in our shop or on your own before class.

What's the difference between a one-day class and a semester class?

Our one-day classes are designed for you to learn the skills and complete your project in a single day. If you prefer to learn at a slower pace, our semester courses meet weekly over four to six weeks, giving you more time to practice and build your skills between classes.

What's your cancellation policy?

Classes and workshops may be canceled or rescheduled up to 72 hours before the start of class. Private lessons may be canceled or rescheduled up to 24 hours in advance. Private events and birthday parties require at least one week’s notice.
